Decor Made Simple is simply an accumulation of ideas on home decorating, home accessories and simple room make overs with a few simple recipes thrown in along the way.

Industrial Rustic Chandelier

I've made lamps before but this is my first attempt at making an industrial rustic chandelier. I didn't repurpose an existing chandelier, I started from scratch using the wheel of an old rusty farm plow.

My inspiration was a halo chandelier by Roost. I was stuck on three things, what I would use for the chandelier body to store all the wires, what type of wire to use since it would be a big part of the design and what to use for the halo.

If all else fails, upcycle, repurpose and reuse. I made my own chandelier body by upcycling a light fixture ceiling plate and a tin can lid. While junking, I found a rusty old farm plow and thought how perfect the wheel would be for the halo.

Easy Room Makeovers

For a fresh spring change, rearranging home accessories for quick and easy room makeovers. It works for me, the room takes on a fresh look without spending money.

You stop noticing things when they sit in the same spot for a long time, when they're moved, they become noticeable again. It's almost like buying new home accessories.

Wood Cutting Board Tray

I upcycled an old cutting board to make a usable tray. I love how sturdy, easy it is to carry, and the many different ways there are to use the wood cutting board tray.

For starters, it makes a creative table centerpiece. Use it to serve food in bed or an ottoman in front of the television. It would also come in handy for displaying food on a buffet.
