Applesauce Recipe

applesauce recipe Applesauce Recipe

I know applesauce is easy to make, but have you ever added pineapple chunks? It just gives the applesauce an added kick. Sort of like sweet and tart, the tartness of the pineapples taste good with the sweetness of the apples.

We like our applesauce chunky. The hardest thing about making this applesauce recipe is peeling the apples. The easiest thing about this applesauce, it can be served with just about any entre.

Ingredients;
  • 8 Medium cooking apples, pared, quartered and cored
  • 1/2 Cup of water
  • 1/2 Cup brown sugar or granulated sugar
  • 1/4 Teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 Teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 Can pineapple chunks

Heat apples and all ingredients over medium heat to boiling. Reduce heat; simmer, stirring occasionally. Cook until apples are tender, add pineapple chunks at the end, cook until heated. Makes about 4 cups.
