Cheap Home Accessories

Flea Market and Garage Sales are a great place to find cheap home accessories. And best of all you don't have to be a decorator or designer to have an eye for great finds. My husband has always been able to find great stuff and he's not any of the above. He finds it and I have fun fixing, painting, refinishing or what ever is needed to make it useful again.

This kitchen table was a great find for $20 at a flea market. The table is solid wood and was all white when he bought it.

The white paint was stripped to expose the wood on the table top. The legs and side of the table were left painted white. Next the table top was stained with a dark color and finished with three coats of polyurethane.

What a great little wood nightstand that was purchased from a garage sale for $1. The table was covered in white paint. The white paint was stripped off leaving just enough paint to give it a vintage look. Next the table was rubbed with a wax to seal it.

How about this office desk and chair? It's always fun to see what he will bring home next. He paid $10 for the pair from a sale Sears Store was having. They were relocating from the downtown area and selling off all their old office furniture.

The desk and chair are an oak wood. They were stripped, sanded and refinished back to life again. They were completed with several coats of polyurethane.

We have a lot of fun finding stuff and giving them new life. It's a great way to find cheap home accessories and great pieces of furniture for your home at big savings. This is also a good way to contribute to the planet by recycling stuff that would otherwise end up in the landfill.
