Fall Decorating Ideas

fall decorating ideas

Turn to mother nature for Fall decorating ideas. Fall is a reminder of simpler times, comfort foods, and nature inspired decorating. It's also a great time of the year for entertaining family and friends. Easy table decorating with colorful leaves, acorns, gourds and pine cones.

Fall has always been my favorite time of the year. The crisp air and the aroma that is caused by the leaves drying and falling off the trees is like no other. I love enjoying the outdoors and bringing some of what mother nature has to offer indoors.

It's also time to get creative and come up with unique Halloween decorating ideas. I made Halloween vintage hats by upcycling, repurposing and reusing embellishments I found in drawers, closets, sewing box and any place place else I thought to look in our house.

It's fun to be Martha Stewart for the day..... just pop a little dinner in the crock pot and spend the rest of the day creating easy, and simple Fall decor. Make simple and easy changes to last years decorations for a new look this year.

To make life easier try combining Halloween and Fall decorations for the inside of the house as well as the outside. This saves time and makes an easy transition from Halloween to Fall.

To find decorating treasures take a stroll around the block, park or woods. You will find acorns, pinecones, colored leaves, twigs and a lot more.

It's also fun to get a few ideas from shopping. I have a few staples I purchase from stores such as corn stalk, gourds and Indian corn.

Corn stalks are very versatile and cheep about $5 a bundle and it's great for many different projects.

Corn stalks can be purchased at grocery stores, produce markets, and plant nurseries. I made two wreaths from corn stalk this year. One wreath for above our fireplace and the other for the front door.

We all love bargains and I found a few great deals at Marc's, our local discount store. Pillar candles were $1.00 - $1.50 for 4 inch and 6 inch candles.

I also found a large cornucopia made out of a natural material, it looks like some type of grass. I thought I had to be reading the price wrong, it was a bargain at $4.00.

I was also pleasantly surprised to find a clearance at Lowe's for mums. The mums were in 4 inch pots at 50 cents each.

Now it was time to take my bargains home and get the creative juices flowing and come up with some fall decorating ideas. Here are some indoor decorating ideas and outdoor decorating ideas to help inspire you for your fall and Halloween decorating.
