Halloween Recipes
Chocolate Spiderweb Cookies We made this Halloween recipes for the first time this Fall season. Wow, I don't know what took us so long. What a chocolate treat! It's a recipe that I've had for a number of years from the Cooking Light Magazine. The cookies make a great Halloween treat decorated with spiderwebs. No pastry bag needed. Just place the powdered sugar icing in a plastic zip lock bag, cut a small hole at the corner and make the spiderwebs. The cookie dough is easy to make, freeze for a few hours, slice and bake. Let them cool and decorate them with spiderwebs. They are cute enough to use as a center piece for a Halloween party you may be planing. Ingredients
Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt, stirring well with a whisk. Place shortening in a large mixing bowl, beat with a heavy duty mixer at medium speed until light and fluffy. Gradually add the granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, beating until well blended. Add vanilla and egg white, beat well. Add flour mixture. Beat until well blended. Turn dough out onto wax paper; shape into a 6 inch log. Wrap log in wax paper. Freeze for 2 hours or until very firm. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cut log into 24 (1/4 inch) slices, and place slices 1 inch apart on baking sheets coated with cooking spray. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes or until set. Remove from pans; cool completely on wire racks. Combine powdered sugar and milk in a medium bowl; stir well until smooth. Spoon into a small zip-top plastic bag; seal. Snip a tiny hole in 1 corner of the bag. Make the spiderweb by piping 3 concentric circles onto each cookie. Starting at center circle, pull a wooden pick through other circles at regular intervals to create a web. Makes 2 dozen. Share this page with your Facebook friends by clicking the Like button.
