Inspirational Art

If you love art, you probably have a piece or two of inspirational art in your home. This piece does that for me. It has a lot of energy and vibrant color. It also has some significance, our love for visiting New Orleans.

Nope, it wasn't purchased in New Orleans, it was an art studio in Chicago, the artist is K. Patrick. We were visiting Chicago, it was late night, we were coming out of the Second City Theater and I saw a black and white version of this art piece in the window.

To our surprise the studio was open so of course the painting drew us inside. The artist, K. Patrick was painting away. Next I saw the vibrant color version of this piece and decided I had to have it.

After talking to the artist we found out she had lived in New Orleans and had recently moved to Chicago and opened her studio. It was a round about way for me to find something I really love, but those unexpected surprises are the best and it just adds even more inspiration.

The photo doesn't do justice for the painting. Different types of paint and styles were used to make this painting come alive on a 4'X4'canvas. The vibrant red libstick of the singer with her shimmering fingernails, to all the small details through out the painting, captures a night on the town in New Orleans.

This type of art piece can play a big role in your decor, from small accessories to the color of your walls and everything in between. I do not grow tired of the home accessories like this painting that we have collected over the years, so I don't feel guilty about the occasional splurge.

I encourage everyone to find something to place in thier home that is an inspirational art piece. It's all the accessories, and the collectibles that make a home enjoyable no matter where you live. These are timeless pieces that go with any decor or style, everything else can be updated over the years.
