Kids Art Projects
My Grandma does a lot of kids art projects with us. We made art to hang in our bedrooms using stencils, iron ons, beads, and material. My name is Skylar I am 10 years old, my sister is Jadyn, she's 5 years old. We made the art you see in the pictures. We started with a natural colored cotton material and cut the material to the size we wanted. With my Grandma's help, we hemmed the edges of the material with iron on adhesive. Next, Jadyn and I laid our material flat on the table. We laid our stencils and iron ons on the material to get an idea of where we wanted them to be placed before we started ironing and painting. My Grandma ironed the iron ons to the material for us. My Grandma also attached the beads on the bottom of the material with iron on adhesive.
After all that was done the fun began with painting. Jadyn and I painted our stencils and filled in any spaces that we thought looked empty. I decided to use iron ons and stencils only but Jadyn added her own free hand art by painting a flower. After we were done with our stencils and iron ons we splattered paint on the material. I made sunburst with some of the splatters and Jadyn made what she called fireworks. We let our art pieces dry completely and than we attached things to make them hang. I used a piece of copper pipping and Jadyn used a wooden dowel. I poked holes on the top of each side of my art, threaded twine through the holes and tied the twine to the copper. Next, I cut a larger piece of twine and tied it to each end of the copper so my art would hang. With my Grandma's help, Jadyn painted the ends of the wooden dowel. She glued the dowel to the top of her material with wood glue. My Grandpa stapled the material to the dowel for extra support. Jadyn tied twine to each end of the dowel for hanging. This was a fun and easy art project that anyone can do. We made a boring rainy day fun by making a piece of art to hang on our bedroom walls.
