Kids kitchens

kids kitchens

Would your little chef like to have one of the coolest kids kitchens in the neighborhood? Flea markets, antique stores, and garage sales are just a few of the places you can look for bargain pieces. More than likely the pieces will need a little work, but it will give you a chance to make the kitchen set unique for your little chef or chefs.

The stove pictured was found at an antique store. It was minus a door, and needed a little sanding and a couple coats of polyurethane.

The burners on the stove are painted with black paint and the knobs for the burners are all in working condition.

When we made a new oven door for the stove the wood didn't match the rest of the stove so we painted the door an apple green.

Next the oven door needed a handle to make it easier to open. We found iron pull handles, one in the center of the door works very well.

The wooden stove was the first kitchen piece we purchased, next we looked for a cabinet, refrigerator, and table and chairs to make the set complete.

After no luck finding a used wood refrigerator we started looking for a new one. To be honest with you, I can't remember where we found it. I know we found it in a kids toy catalog at a reasonable price.

It has a door that opens the freezer and a separate door that opens the refrigerator. We wanted the refrigerator to look like it belong with the stove so we added our own touches to it.

The doors were sanded and painted bright blue. We added the same iron pull handles to the refrigerator doors that were used on the oven door.
