Make Christmas Ornaments
Would you like to learn how to make Christmas ornaments? Our daughter Jennifer and I had a lot of fun making these handmade Christmas ornaments. It was like playing with playdough.
They are formed by making a lot of different shaped balls. Water is used like glue to connect the balls together. A garlic press makes hair for angels, beards for Santa, or feathers for Big Bird from Sesame Street. Use objects like toothpicks to make designs in the dough. After the ornament is complete, poke a few holes here and there with a pin before baking to keep it from bubbling up and loosing it's shape. Also, bend a straight pin and insert into the ornament before baking to make a hook for hanging. Bake the ornaments in the oven so they will harden, let them cool and paint the ornaments with acrylic paints. Finish them with a coat of lacquer, varnish, or acrylic polyurethane to preserve them for years to come. We made some ornaments inside a pecan shell, they are my favorite. Keep in mind when making the bread dough ornaments they are heavy, therefore, be careful of the size. Bread Dough Christmas Ornaments Recipe;
