Outdoor Decor Going Green

Outdoor Decor Going Green is a book of tutorials and over 200 photos of projects created by reusing and being a thrifty shopper. There are no special skills required just a little thinking out side the decorators box.

Hi there,

I was "green" even before it was the hip thing to do. I discovered "back in the day" how to save cash by purchasing secound hand, quality, wood furniture. Some purchases take a lot of elbow grease to remove old finishes, but in the end, it's worth the effort.

Budget decorating is not only about saving cash, reusing and shopping flea markets is a great way to achieve a collected over time look. I don't want my house to look like a furniture store's show room floor.

It's fun shopping clearance rooms, second hand stores, and flea markets, but I don't stop there. Salvage yards and junk hardware stores make it possible to purchase wood, doors, hardware and much more, for less dollars.

For Outdoor Decor Going Green, I shopped salvage yards and junk hardware stores and used scrap materials to build new projects. No I don't have carpenter skills, just the ability to think outside the decorators box.
