The tree mural on the wall in the attic tree house playroom has been completed, at least for this year. While our grand daughters were visiting over the summer, they completed the final touches by painting a couple squirrels, birds, butterflies, and dragonflies.

Jadyn and Skylar are quite talented and full of playroom ideas. They decided what they wanted to add to the tree mural, researched the internet for photos and started drawing.

Grandma was on hand to supply drinks, change paint water, add more paint to the Frisbee paint pallets, and suggest an occasional paint technique.

When they decided they wanted a paint color we didn't have in the attic, I would help them figure out what colors they should mix together to achieve their desired color.

It was all up to them and they had no hesitations. The tree mural is much improved with all the colorful creatures they created and painted.

Jadyn and Skylar used pencil and chalk to sketch their animals, insects and birds. Craft acrylic paint was used to bring them alive with color. If you need playroom ideas maybe you should leave the decisions up to the kids!

Skylar is very interested in art. She is involved in the art club at school. She is inspiered by her art teacher and is quiet appreciative of everything he has taught her. Skylar also has other inspirational people like Great Grandpa Jerry that gives her water color lessons and I always have an art project for the kids to work on.

Skylar recently made use of boards she found laying around the house. Her "eye project" was quite an ambitous art piece, it's five feet long. Her brother Nate pitched in and helped her paint the background colors.

Six year old Jadyn surprised everyone this past school year with a "Young Author Award." Her book titled "A Bird in the Park" complete with her own illustrations won first place of all the schools in their county. Jadyn was pretty nonchalant about the whole ordeal, but we all made up for it by being completely blown away.
