Porch Bed Swing

I have always wanted a porch bed swing. I've hesitated because the price tag of $800 or more and that doesn't even include the mattress. I've procrastinated about making one myself because I thought it would be too complicated. I stopped procrastinating and got creative.

The bed swing was easy and took about three to four hours to complete. I think it took me longer in the hardware store figuring out what all I needed to hang the swing. A nice man answered my questions. Later he walked by and made the comment, "You're still here?"

The idea sometimes takes longer to figure out than making the project. One of my dilemmas was the type of material to use to hang the swing. I didn't want chain to hold the swing, I wanted a different look, something that wouldn't stretch and strong enough to hold the weight.
