Quiche Recipe
This classic quiche recipe is a French dish that can be served any time of the day either as a main course, side dish or appetizer. To make it easier I use Pillsbury pre made pie crusts. They are available in most major grocery stores in the refrigerated pastry section. If you want to make individual quiches purchase small pie shells located in the frozen food section and follow the steps listed below. Note that the cooking time will be less as the quiche are smaller. This recipe is versatile and can be changed easily by substituting the ham, onions, spinach and mushrooms with your own favorite ingredients. You can also bake the quiche ahead of time and place in the microwave to reheat, remember to remove the quiche from the pie pan before you put it in the microwave. Quiche Ingredients:
In a large skillet saute onions and mushrooms until carmalized. Add spinach and ham into the mixture and saute for another 2 minutes. Place one pie crust in a 9 inch pie pan, flute the edges as desired. Place aluminum foil around the edges of crust to prevent burning. In a small mixing bowl lightly beat the eggs, add cream and mix together. Place ham, spinach, onions, mushrooms and swiss cheese in the bottom of pie crust. Pour in the egg and cream mixture gently stirring with a fork to blend all of the ingredients together. Preheat oven to 325. Bake 45 to 50 minutes or until knife inserted into center comes out clean. Let stand for a few minutes before serving. I always place the quiche on a cookie sheet when baking to prevent spillage in the oven.
