Teepeed

At 1:30 in the morning the door bell rang. After waking our foggy brains and getting our sleep deprived bodies moving, Greg and I climbed out of bed and looked out our bedroom window.

We had been tee peed! Toilet paper was hanging from the top of the trees, around tree trunks, bushes and any thing else in sight. The front yard was a white toilet paper mess.

This is not the kind of exterior home decorating your neighborhood or you would like have. Sorry no pictures to share. It was just too dark at 1:30 in the morning.

My first thought was all the stuff we have outside from yard accessories to furniture. Was anything vandalized or stolen?

After a quick inspection, to our relief, we found no vandalism, everything was in tact. Next, we started to wonder who, what, and how.

We decided since we were already awake we might as well clean it up. The grass was wet with dew and we decided we might have a real mess on our hands if we waited until morning. So, now I find myself thanking our vandals for ringing the door bell and waking us up.

As we started pulling toilet paper from bushes and trees, and picking up shredded newspaper from the yard I started laughing. "This is the first time we have been tee peed!" We started going though names of ornery friends and family members that would do this to us. Or, was it just a bunch of kids out having fun? No, we decided it's more fun when you have someone to target.

I guess our reaction should have been angry. Instead we were laughing and having fun. It was a beautiful night. The stars were shinning in the sky with a sliver of the moon showing.

After the mess was gone we weren't quite ready to go back indoors. A couple wine coolers later, we found ourselves heading back to bed at 4:00 in the morning.

Our vandals had their fun and so did we!! And oh yes, we did find out who did it! Paybacks are coming!
